Please consider making a financial donation to Urantia Historical Society. By doing so, you can participate in helping us to preserve and properly store all archived materials, as well as digitize and list them on our public archives on this website. You can help us maintain our secure physical archives, which are insured, climate controlled and fire protected. Although the Board of Directors are all volunteers, we employ a part time archivist to help categorize and properly organize all material donations, who will also train future volunteers in this process. We use only the highest quality archival materials to store all the materials. With your financial donation, you can be a part of helping to maintain these precious records of our Urantia Book history for present and future generations. All financial contributions to the Urantia Historical Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, are fully tax-deductible.
Donate Records and Objects
Thank you for considering a donation of historical items to the Urantia Historical Society. UHS accepts many categories of materials for its archives: digital collections, recordings in various formats, hard copy papers (originals and copies), photographs in various formats, and objects including books and artwork. We start by processing the physical archives, including digital collections, then enter the items into the Past Perfect software system we use to make items accessible on the UHS website and searchable by topic or person.
UHS functions as an archive by accepting only materials that meet international archives standards and providing only UHS descriptions that are neutral, not stating any historical interpretation or commentary on the content of the material donated. The only items rejected would be items that do not meet the legal requirements for an archive. For example, we might need to get permission for a letter authored by a living person who has not given us permission to place it into our collection or publish it. Such items are flagged by the contractors or volunteers processing the donations for review and decision by the UHS Archives Committee.
Since we are willing to accept a wide range of items and already have a substantial collection, the best way to get started is to contact us. Use the website contact form. Give us a brief description of what you have and the best way we can get in touch with you. We will not share this information.
When considering such a donation to UHS, remember that we do not necessarily need to have the physical item, if you prefer to keep it in your private collection. Please scan photographs, artwork, and documents at a minimum of 300 DPI. A higher DPI like 600 or even 1200 could be necessary depending on the image detail.
Consistent with a donor’s wishes, arrangements can be made to have the public availability of a donated item postponed until a specified future date.
Thank you for your support!
